  2. Distribution of classroom materials.
  3. ToT training sessions for teachers.
  4. Follow-up visits to assess training effectiveness.

Background: Many schools in Pachir Agam district, Nangarhar province, lack proper buildings or classrooms, forcing students to learn in open areas. This results in high absenteeism and poor attention during classes. In collaboration with the District Education Department, YVO selected 10 schools without buildings to address this issue.

Approach: YVO provided large tents as temporary classrooms for these schools, along with necessary equipment such as blackboards, carpets, and cover sheets to create a conducive learning environment. Additionally, the project focused on teacher training to improve teaching methodologies and attract more students.

Teacher Training: ToT sessions were conducted for 89 teachers from the 10 schools, with separate sessions for female teachers. The training, conducted over five days each, focused on approved teaching methodologies and utilized training manuals in Pashto for practical use in classrooms.

Follow-up: After the training sessions, project staff conducted follow-up visits to assess the program's effectiveness in improving teaching quality and student engagement.

Overall, the project aims to enhance education quality and access for children in Pachir Agam through improved infrastructure and teacher capacity building.
