Building Safe and Resilient Lives for Women Returnees in Nangahar Province in Bati Kot district, of Nangarhar

The project award period is from 01/January/2026 to 30/September/2026

The project aims to support returnee women in Nangarhar by delivering an integrated package of health, nutrition, protection, and livelihood services. It is designed to address immediate humanitarian needs while strengthening long-term resilience and self-reliance among vulnerable women.

At the center of the intervention is a dedicated Basic Health Center (BHC), which will serve as a safe and accessible hub for women. The BHC will provide essential women’s health services, psychosocial support, and confidential, women-only safe spaces where beneficiaries can access care with dignity and privacy.

In addition to health and protection services, the project promotes economic empowerment through culturally appropriate livelihood and skills development opportunities. These include training in tailoring, food processing, and kitchen gardening, enabling women to develop practical skills that can generate sustainable income within their communities.

YVO lead daily field operations and community engagement activities. The YVO is responsible for implementing outreach programs and delivering the livelihoods component, including vocational training and the distribution of sub-grants to highly vulnerable returnee women.

The project is built on a strong partnership approach. Joint field implementation, continuous coaching, and technical mentoring will ensure effective coordination, knowledge transfer, and quality delivery.
