Duration: 2 Months (01 March – 30 April 2026)
Location: Dara-e-Noor District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan
Following the successful completion of Phase I, which provided emergency cash assistance to more than 80 earthquake-affected households, significant recovery needs continue to persist in Dara-e-Noor District. A considerable number of families remain displaced and are still residing in temporary shelters. Furthermore, affected populations continue to experience psychological distress due to recurring aftershocks, while community tensions have increased as a result of limited resources and prolonged hardship.
The overall aim of this intervention is to strengthen the recovery and resilience of earthquake-affected households through the provision of multi-round cash assistance.
Specifically, the project seeks to deliver two rounds of conditional cash assistance to vulnerable households in order to support food security, address essential basic needs, and facilitate early recovery processes.
The project will be implemented in partnership with PVU (Peace Vallige United) through a community committee–led approach, building on the successful model applied during Phase I. This approach ensures transparency, accountability, fairness, and active community participation throughout all stages of implementation.
