YVO has been conducting awareness campaigns on peace and conflict and enabling community members to translate the knowledge, attitudes, and values they obtain through this learning into action. It promotes the development of a wide range of skills that help people deal effectively with the challenges of everyday life, which include skills for cooperation, negotiation, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, coping with emotion, self-awareness, and risk awareness.
Session methods: a peace booklet developed by YVO has been used for learning. Participants report cases of conflict resolution of their own and encourage one another to solve problems. They also disseminate what they learn to family members and communities. The session methods
include lectures, presentations by participants, group discussions, group work, and role play.
